Under the slogan "Building New Socialist Countryside", the issue of rural community development has once again been given unprecedented importance in China. As the direct means of reshaping rural society, rural education is now a hot social concern, and there have been great advances in rural education study. But the research results has already been from the national education policy or government’s macroscopic plan, it was short from countryman’s education demand, village culture vicissitude.The essay chose a typical county in southern of North China as the research object, through the fieldwork of anthropology approach, using ethnographic writing, described the rural school as a rural education represent in the past twenty years had great change. It tries to provide a microscopic picture of the case about the rural school and educational change. In the modern development, the rural school as the main place to transfer of knowledge is not more prosperous. Contrary, under the together forces of the family, school, country and government, the rural school has been declining. As a kind of foreign social organization, when social positions is solidified and the local culture is destroyed, rural education must been repositioned. It not only provide spiritual roots for the rural children in rural society, but also for the whole society and all the children provide life pursuit of modernity. Some scholars put forward a new path:through the activation of local value to promote the rural education. The path will be realized, rural education will be developed, if rural education has a free and rational space in the modern educational system and our government can provide enough resources. Rural education has a long way to go.
