The word "Ritual" is generally illustrated the procedure and form of ceremony in the dictionary. In the past, when the knowledge was not very developed, the ritual was usually indicated the same as those activities which we called "Ceremony". With the evolution and development of society, anthropologists and sociologists give the ritual a more comprehensive, a more precise meaning by long-term observation and research in the end. According to the explanation of anthropologists, the ritual is defined as a whole set of behavior forms which are symbolic, performable and regulated by the culture and tradition. Thus the sociologists further refined four basic features of ritual:symbolic, performable, cultural and systematic. In other words, all those behaviors or activities which contained the four features above can be put into the broad category of ritual.The most important activity in class is teaching. Besides teaching, there is also a kind of rituals we talked above in class, which is ritual in class teaching. Compared with high school and university, ritual in class teaching of primary school is more apparent. Therefore, it has special significance if we do research on it. There are many kinds of rituals in class teaching in primary school, but they mainly focus on the situations such as that when class begins or class is over, when the teacher is teaching knowledge, when the teacher is asking students questions, when the teacher is praising or criticizing students. Only if we deeply step into the site to do some research, can we show the specificity of rituals in class teaching of primary school, and attract people’s attention, especially educators’attention.It must be pointed out that though rituals in class teaching of primary school exist objectively, due to kinds of internal and external factors, such as formalism, ossification, dissimilation and lack of understanding, some problems which cannot be ignored come out. In order to change this situation and exert rituals’functions better, and to promote the quality of class teaching of primary school furthermore, it is necessary for us to discuss and analyze the rituals in class teaching of primary school.From the viewpoint of sociology and use the theories of sociology, if we put the macroscopical ritual into the microcosmic space to illustrate the necessity and importance of making use of rituals properly, we can get some fresh opinions and effective advice. Overall, only make full sense of the connotation and value of rituals in class teaching of primary school, and make use of the precious "Gold Stone" which is hided in the process of class teaching, can the teaching in class of primary school develop further.
