General technical teachers’ professional identity, as intrinsic motivation mechanism of general technical teachers’ professional development, is of great significance to the development of general technology curriculum as well as general technical teachers’ professional development itself. Owing to the limit of curriculum development stage, general technical teachers in our country have obvious characteristics of complicated source, inauguration reason and post properties, shortage of quantity and lack of humane care and sufficient teaching support. Therefore, teachers’ professional identity on general technology has different qualities with other curriculum. In order to understand the condition of general technical teachers’ professional identity systemically and put forward the related suggestions, various research methods were used in this study. With the newly formed general technical teachers’ professional identity scale (including occupational values, the sense of occupational belonging and professional behavior inclination etc eight dimensions), a large-scale sample survey is carried out among domestic general technical teachers, combined with interviews with teachers and analysis on professional growth report, we conclude that general technical teachers’ professional identity needs to be improved, there is significant difference about it on different dimensional level. General technical teachers all highly appreciate their occupational values, but get into trouble on professional self-esteem, professional environment, professional knowledge, professional role cognition. As teachers’ professional identity is generated dynamically in the interaction between individual teacher and the environment, so the trouble it has faced is caused of multiple reasons including social environment, school environment, professional nature and general technical teachers’ personal characteristics.In order to put forward the proper suggestions related to promoting general technical teachers’ professional identity, Through profound and comprehensive analysis of4well constructed teachers’ professional identity in this study, we find that positive correlation exists between external environment, teachers’ qualities and good construction of general technical teachers’ professional identity. So we should improve the professional identity constructed environment and awaken general technical teachers to achieve the purpose of good construction of general technical teachers’ professional identity.
