The Analysis On The Objectives And Content Of Modern Poetry Elective Course In Senior High School

China’s Ministry of education in2003promulgated" Ordinary High School LanguageCurriculum Standards (experimental)". According to the task of Senior High School Chineseeducation and the needs of the students in the new period, the new curriculum standarddesigns two parts: required courses and elective courses. The development of electivecurriculum is a center and highlights of the new curriculum reform.The elective system is theorganic composition of personalized education and the personalized curriculum, and thenecessary conditions of supporting the personality development, which is closely linked withthe spirit of the new curriculum reform.. Modern poetry elective course is a specific electivemodule of the series under the "Poetry and Prose". Modern poetry is a kind of strong vitalityand spirit of innovation, and it is a form of poetry closely related to the thoughts and emotionsof modern people, which contains a unique aesthetic value and rich cultural connotation.Therefore, the successful design and implementation of modern poetry elective course playsan important role in improving students’ Chinese accomplishment.However, there still exist many problems in the current high school elective courses ofmodern poetry. This thesis analyzes the present problems and their causes after summarizingthe present situation of modern poetry elective courses in the Senior High School. On thisbasis, mainly from the objectives and content of curriculum, the course objectives, learningobjectives, course content of elective modern poetry and the course content presented in thetextbooks are all discussed step by step, looking forward to making a contribution to theimplementation, the evaluation and the overall course construction of modern poetry electivecourses in Senior High School.
