High school is not only the further period of the education after the nine-yearcompulsory education, but an indispensable learning stage before entering university. Thestate established A Notice of the Evaluation and Acceptance of1000Model High School in1995, which greatly improved the overall level of the high school education. PhysicalEducation Teaching is combined with teaching and learning, and it’s one of the most basicapproaches to achieve the goals of school sports teaching. But most students, teachers andparents pay too much attention to the learning of the subjects of the college entranceexamination, thinking the P.E. lessons less important, which does great harm to the theoverall development of students.Strictly according to the scientific methods of physical education research, with theguidance of education, school physical education, teaching theory of physical education andother related theories, using the method of literature, questionnaire, mathematical statistics,logic analysis and other methods, I had a research of the present situation on P.E. teaching inProvincial Model High Schools of Can Zhou city in Hebei province. The result is as follows.First, the number of women PE teachers is a little bit smaller in provincial leveldemonstrative high school in Cangzhou city, and the proportion of male and female teachersis high in some schools, which has bad effects of the PE teaching. So we should pay attentionto that. There is no obvious fault of the age structure of the teachers, and the proportion ofteachers’ teaching ages is reasonable. Most PE teachers are young and energetic and theyhave the capacity to develop. The degree of the PE teachers is not qualified enough. There arenot enough postgraduates. The overall titles of the PE teachers are proper, but the distributionof them is uneven, that means there are no postgraduate teachers in some schools. Thenumber of papers published is so limited and the research ability should be improved. So,most teachers are willing to participate in further education, but actually, there is no enoughchance for them to further their education.Secondly, generally speaking, students like PE lessons, and they can benefit a lot fromhaving PE lessons. Through PE lessons, they can keep healthy, have pleasure and relax from their heavy studies. On the other hand, there is also some students being late or absent fromthe PE lessons for some personal reasons. The students prefer their teachers can give themchance to relax in some degree and play more games to escape from the great pressure.Thirdly, more than80percent of the leadership of the provincial model high schools inCan Zhou City supports the creation of physical education curriculum, but actually, there isnot enough PE lessons, the higher the grades are, the less PE lessons the senior students have.The physical theory courses are only held in two schools. Teachers prefer to choose thoseitems which are safe and lower-required. But the students do not like these items. There isalso difference between the preference of girl students and boy students.Teachers’ work planfor both large and small refinement is not good, there lesson plans is not integral. Teachersshould organize their teaching plans and teaching methods according to the character of thesenior school students. The main basis for the teachers to evaluate students’ sports scores,attendance, classroom performance, skills, and technology. The venue is slightly limitedbecause of the funding and the number of students.
