Comparative Study On Postdoctoral System Between China And America

Post-doctoral system has been in the world more than one hundred years.China’s post-doctoral system was established by the advocacy of the well-known scientists Li Zhengdao and the decision-making of Comrade Deng Xiaoping.Postdoctoral system of China takes a particular and indispensable effect in producing advanced scientific and administrative talents, in helping the development and advisable communications of talents, in accelerating the study of science and its intercommunication, in promoting the combination of production and research. This system has played an essential part in China’s human resource strategy and its cultivation of advanced talents.With the changing of environment, Chinese postdoctoral education face some challenges, such as the rapid increased amount of post-doctor and the inadequate input fund in postdoctoral fund.The comparison analysis is used in the thesis to summarize the similarities and differences of the Postdoctoral system between America and China.Then the deficiencies in China’s Postdoctoral system and the characteristics of Postdoctoral system in America that could be used as reference in China.Comparing the Postdoctoral system in the two countries, the thesis proposes that China should draw experiences from America Postdoctoral system as reference and establish a Postdoctoral system fit its national situation in globalized international community.
