New course needs teachers to change their teaching ways, improve teaching method andstimulate students’ interest in learning history; lead students to take initiative in learning historywith a positive attitude; then change their absorption in learning knowledge with passivity.Graphical representation is a good way to reach the above goal and it is worth to berecommended and popularized.Graphical representation can fit the requirement of information society development, it alsoreaches the new course standard, as well as fits the characters of history course. It possessessystematic ness and figurativeness, generality and intuitionism coexist, unifies science andartistry. It helps to improve students’ interest in learning history and solve problems, emphasizethe key points. Also it can improve the students’ learning ability, thus it attaches academic’simportance as well as becomes many teachers’ favorite. It is worth to be discussed furtheracademically.This article is conducted by the new course concept, bases on the existing academicresearch achievement and combines writer’s teaching practice. Studies the graphicalrepresentation application on junior high school teaching and uses a large number of historygraphics and teaching case. Full text includes five parts besides introduction and ends.1st part, overview of graphical representation, which includes3parts: definition of relativeconcept, classification of history graphic and characters.2nd part, the significance of graphical representation application onhistory course of junior high school. Main discussions focus on four aspects, contributions toenhance students’ interest in learning history, reinforce teaching efficiency; be good to switchdifficult things to be easily understood, solve difficult points, emphasize the key points anddeepen knowledge comprehension; help students to know history knowledge system well,enhance their learning ability; assist teachers to have a clear idea on course, improve teachers’teaching ability.3rd part, graphical representation’s design principle and method of junior high schoolhistory teaching course. Explanation from two aspects of graphic design principle and design method.4th part, graphical representation application method on different history lesson types injunior high school, which be discussed from two parts of new lesson’s every teaching segmentand different staged review lessons.5th part, discuss from four aspects: the notice of graphical representation application andcombination with oral teaching in junior history teaching; and combination with multi-mediacourseware; right quantity of graphical representation; pay attention to the limitation of graphicalrepresentation.
