Research On The Problem And Countermeasures In Safeguarding The Rights For College Students

With the development of the society and the attention from the media inrecent years, the lawsuit and dispute cases regarding to college students’ rights andinterests have gradually come into people’s sight. Finding out the difficulties insafeguarding college students’ right, analyzing the causes of difficulties, and exploringeffective measures to guide the college students’ rights protection are very important forthe colleges and universities. This paper focuses on the state quo of college students’rights and interests protection. Based on the interviews with some students and teacherswho are involved in the rights protection cases, this paper studies the relations betweenrights protection and college management, identifies the potential problems duringrights protection, and then explores the countermeasures connecting with the practicalsituations.This paper makes research from the following three aspects:Firstly, through literature analysis, this paper analyzes and defines the collegestudents’ rights and interests protection. Using questionnaire as the preliminaryinvestigations and analysis, this paper makes it clear that the main difficulties in collegestudents’ rights and interests protection are the recognition deviation in rights andinterests, poor communication channels and the lack of monitoring mechanism, etc.Secondly, the main causes for the aforesaid difficulties include the unbalanceddevelopment of college management right and students’ education right, lack of rightprotection awareness, insufficient attention to the importance of college students’ rightand interest protection by the college, lack of understanding of interest and rightprotection by students, incomplete laws on related issues, weakness of awareness of lawby college management staff who need to improve their management skills, andimperfect rights protection procedures and the unpopular propaganda for rightsprotection. Thirdly, to solve the problems in college students’ rights protection, we shouldestablish a correct awareness of rights protection, guide teachers and students to treatrights protection in a correct way,, establish and perfect right protection rules andregulations to ensure that the work be carried out according to rules, establish viablerights protection mode so as to facilitate the right protection, improve the relief systemand protect the students’ right as much as possible, and improve the monitoringmechanism to supervise the orderly conduct of all works. All these are to promote soundcollege management and protect the rights of college students in a practical way.
