The development of non-governmental education of institution of higherlearning is closely related to the development of the society and the economy. Thenon-government education of higher learning in China has been in a period of rapiddevelopment with the deepening of opening and reform and the sustainabledevelopment of social economy in China. The students’ learning behavior in thesenon-government institutions will result in their learning effect in the institutions and willhave a direct effect on their job-hunting after graduation, which undoubtedly will posesubstantial aftereffects when they enter the society.The students learning in the non-government institutions have many problems intheir learning behavior. Those students fail to lay a solid foundation and lack in basicskills in learning. It has become a common phenomenon that many students can’t focustheir attention on learning and don’t listen to the teachers carefully. Students’ attitudestowards learning are incorrect neither. Meanwhile, the students in the non-governmentinstitutions usually possess a negative feeling towards learning and a low efficiency inlearning. In order to solve the problems above, this paper objectively summaries andanalyzes students’ present learning situation by means of questionnaire and studying therelative literature.This paper draws on relative theories in pedagogy and psychology, takes in theresearch achievements in soci-pedagogy and non-government education psychology. Itconducts the research on students’ learning behavior in non-government institutions byinvestigation and the questionnaire which is made according to the students’ learningsituation in two private institutions of higher learning in Dalian. Two hundred studentsin the two institutions are randomly selected and investigated with the questionnaire.When the data collected were analyzed, it appeared that the students in the two collegeshave such problems as incorrect learning attitudes, lacking the ability to focus on theclass and the variety in learning method and lacking confidence in learning.Based on the questionnaire and the research achievements on colleges studentslearning home and abroad, this paper analyzes the factors that will affect students’learning behavior in the non-government institutions. Through analyzing, it is foundthat the subjective factors and the objective factors can affect those students’ learningbehavior. The subjective factors are: personality, motivation, learning ability, andlearning pressure. The objective factors are:society, college, family. After analyzing andconsidering the factors that affect students’ learning behavior, this research paper putsforwards the resolution from three aspects of school, teacher and student. As to theprivate colleges, it is suggested that they should deepen the reform in teaching method,improve the style of educational management, create more bases for the students topractice what has been taught in classes and enforce the cooperation between the schooland companies. As to the teachers, the teachers in the private colleges should improvetheir professional skills and responsibility in education, understand and support thestudents during teaching process. As to the students, they should be more confident andbe trained to plan their future career.
