Since the opening of the new round of the reform of the compulsory education courses, the design and the operation of the maths curriculum has attached more importance to the usage of modern information technology. To develop and offer more abundant study resources for the students, the modern information technology has been considered as a powerful tool for students to study maths and solve problems. Furthermore, the curriculum reform initiates the students to do the maths activities actively like the observation, experiment, guesswork, verification,inference and communication etc. it also considers the pratice, the spontaneous exploration, and the cooperation to be important way s to study maths. Hence, the integrity of the information technology and the curriculum has become an important content of current teaching reseach. WebQuest is one of these teaching patterns which is based on the theory of constructionism, the cooperational study and the multiple intelligence.This thesis researches and practises the application of WebQuest in middle school maths teaching. The specific researches are as follows:Firstly, the thesis studies the origin,the definition, the constitute and the related theories on WebQuest. The thesis in the meanwhile has a command of the history of WebQuest in our country and classifies the exisiting researches. It also explores the theoretical basis of WebQuest from the perspective of the theory of constructionism, the cooperational study and the multiple intelligence.Then, the thesis makes an intensive study of the application of WebQuest in middle school maths, including the concrete standards of middle school maths which is suitable for the requirements of WebQuest. It also displays the themes suitable for WebQuest, the dedign principles of the application of WebQuest in middle school maths teaching, and the method to form the teaching pattern of middle school maths based on WebQuest.Thirdly, it is about the application of WebQuest in middle school maths teaching. Through one term teaching, the writer uses the questionnaires to know the student’s change before and after using the pattern. In the same time, the thesis checks and analyses the effectiveness of the teaching pattern based on WebQuest.Via the research and practice, the thesis finds that WebQuest plays an active role in part of the middle school maths teaching. The students’interest in the maths study has in some way improved and their sense of cooperation has aslo been consolidated which is good for students to turn passive study into spontaneous study.
