Study On The Present Situation Of Summer Schools Of Research Universities In China

Summer school originated at Harvard University of the United States, dating back more than130years of history. It played a positive role in promoting exchanges and prosperity of the world’s academic and cultural, and in accelerating the popularization and internationalization of higher education. In recent years,summer schools have had a rapid development in our country, but they started late, and are still in the preliminary stages of development, and effect of incomplete are not so satisfactory, they need intensive study.This study used the method of the survey method, interview method. Method of literature and case law the writer analysis the current situation and problems in the aspects of hold time. School running concept, course offering, constitution and scale of the student, relevant management system and the attitude of the student, the conclusions are:the hold time of most research universities are short which are less than15days mostly; different schools have different school running concept, and the orientation is not clear; teaching methods are not varied which mainly include speaking and discussing; scale of the student are small which are mainly less than200student; the registration form is mainly using mail, network construction is lagging behind; the student of colleges knows little about summer school; the impact of summer school is not enough. Finally, in order to promote the development of summer schools of research universities in our county, this study makes suggestions in the aspects of clearing orientation, regulating teaching behavior, innovating development mode and strengthening promotion and publicity.
