Research On Establishing A Teaching Quality Guarantee System For Independent Colleges Based On The Process Of Applying The ISO9000Standards

It is impossible for an educational institution to improve the quality of teaching without establishing a teaching quality assurance system, and it is of great value on both theory and practice to apply the ISO9000Quality Management Standards to establish the teaching quality assurance system for independent colleges. This paper has five parts included. In the first part, the introduction analyzes the current situation of the teaching quality management in independent colleges from several aspects such as the students training objective, the faculty, the curriculum provision, the student work and teaching quality control etc.; then it shows the research content, necessity and feasibility, research methods followed by some literature review. In the second part, it presents the concept of Independent College and Teaching Quality Assurance System, as well as the ISO9000Standards; it covers the four basic contents of ISO9000:it states the composition and characteristics of ISO9000; it pays more attention to the basis---Eight Quality Management Principles; then it emphasizes that documentation is needed to keep a record of the assurance system so as to be repeated and traced back at any time; the method used in ISO9000Standards is Process approach, which is used throughout the whole system, then followed by the quality management system mode on the basis of Process. In the third part, the teaching quality assurance system of independent colleges is analyzed based on the Process approach. In the fourth part, the construction principles are searched, the teaching process is analyzed by means of PDCA quality ring in order to establish the guarantee system through the stages of "Plan, Do, Check and Action". In the last part, it emphasized the concept of ISO9000is used as a reference to set the foundation for modern teaching quality management, it also compares ISO9000certification for the teaching quality of independent colleges with the national teaching quality assessment, showing that it is important to integrate both of them. ISO9000Standards bring the new thought about management of teaching to independent colleges, the teaching quality assurance system is a great foundation of improving work efficiency and averaging up the management. A teaching quality guarantee system for independent colleges based on process applying the ISO9000Standards helps to reduce or remove the barrier of educational organization communication between domestic and overseas. It is the international development tendency for independent colleges, and further more, it will increase the competitive power of our country in the international education market.
