The education in21st century is also the innovative education, andteachers cultivate students’ awareness of innovation and creative abilities arethe important issues to today’s education. The question consciousness is thepower of the thinking, and it is also the starting point of the innovation.Attaching importance to cultivating the students’ problem awareness is thespecific requirements of the new curriculum standards, and it is also recognizedby the ancient and modern scholars. This paper, which is based on thegeography teaching realities, map teaching, teaching theories and investigationand analysis on the high school students’ problem awareness, explores thefeasibility of the students’ problem awareness cultivation. In the end, this paperalso discuss about how to cultivate the students’ problem awarenesspreliminary.This paper, which can be divided into five parts, is based on the high school mapteaching to sort out and analysis the students’ problem awareness cultivation.The first part will talk about introduction. Mainly from four aspects of theresearch background, research objectives, research, research significance.The second part will talk about relevant concepts and theories, such as it willdefine the concept of "map""map teaching" and "problem consciousness" and so on,it will also provide student with theoretical basis on how to cultivate the students’problem awareness from the view of pedagogy and educational psychology.The third part will talk about the feasibility of the students’ problem awarenesscultivation in the high school map teaching. In this part, it will discuss the feasibilityof the students’ problem awareness cultivation from the two aspects, which are themap is information-rich source and high school students’ law of the psychologicaldevelopment and thinking characteristics.The fourth part will mainly talk about the investigation and cause analysis thecurrent situation of the students’ problem awareness in the high school by mapteaching.The fifth part will talk about the targeted strategy of the students’ problemawareness cultivation in the high school by map teaching from five aspects which canbe illustrated as follows: geography teachers can create suitable problem situations by map teaching to stimulate students’ positive thinking; every student should developgood habits of reading and using maps; geography teachers should educate theirstudents the ways of question by map teaching; geography teachers should cultivatestudents’ creative thinking ability by map teaching; geography teachers should layemphasis on the power function of the non-intellectual factors to cultivate thestudents’ problem awareness.
