Students’ leaning interest is the motivation for self-study and how to cultivate student’slearning interest is a hot issue of current education research. Mathematics curriculumcharacters, such as abstractness and logicality, make student’s learning interest decrease nowdays. In this thesis, we will focus on middle school student’s learning interest. Based onliterature review and questionnaire, we analyze the factor of middle school students’ learninginterest. According to these factors, we propose some strategies for cultivating students’learning interest.I combine the actual situation of the students and my own education and teachingsituation to elaborate the aims of the research of middle school students’ interest, theoreticalsignificance and practical significance. I have collected a total of45studies from1996to2011middle school mathematics learning articles of interest, and I have arranged andanalyzed them through documentary research, by contrast summing up the learning methodsof training middle school students’ interest in mathematics. I have interviewed seven middleschool mathematics teachers to find out the impacts of middle school students’ interest andasked the middle school students of our school, and then I put forward mathematics learningcultivating strategy, a total of five kinds:1, solid foundation, step by step;2,pay attention tothe guidance of the students’ learning;3, transform teaching methods(problem solving,integration into the mathematical thinking and methods;focusing on cultivating students’thinking ability;strengthen group cooperation);4, try to be humorous in language;5, contactpractice and strengthen mathematical knowledge.Studies have shown that we need cultivate students interest in mathematics, and it can bedeveloped, too. On the one hand, teachers have to understand the real reasons why students donot like math or they are not good at math, on the other hand we need combine students’situations to change our teaching methods. With the aid and the active cooperation ofstudents, students will be more interested in learning mathematics.
