With in-depth development of the new curriculum reform, there have been changes which people have not focused too much on imparting knowledge in class of high school geography. Based on the change, promoting the physical and mental development of every student will be the desire and will be as one of the teaching object, cultivating desire and ability of longlife learning is also the same. Geographical guidance of learning methods is an important way to improve the efficiency of geography teaching and cultivate students’learning ability. In order to provide an operable improvement strategy of guidance of learning methods for educators of high school geography, it have been as a research object in this thesis.In the thesis, on the basis of analyzing the necessity of guidance of learning methods in high school geography teaching, and making the status of guidance of learning methods in high school as a start point, the author investigate high school students and teachers through questionnaires. The questionnaire about student include: the level of awareness of the importance of geographic learning methods、the satisfaction of the mastered geographic learning methods、application awareness and strategy、the situation of the actual mastering and applying geographic learning situation、the accessing way and influencing factors of the geographic learning methods. The author investigates teacher on two aspects in the questionnaire:the awareness and strategy of guidance of learning methods on geography. After investigation, two aspects of questions about geographic guidance of learning methods in high school have been found:(1) high school students on the one hand have the insufficient awareness of the important of geographic guidance of learning methods、poor application awareness and less of application strategy, on the other hand, they are not satisfied with the mastered learning methods and do not almost apply the specific learning methods in daily geography learning;(2) The geography teacher has a not good awareness of geography guidance of learning methods and the insufficient strategy of guidance. Based on the analysis in the questionnaire and the result of interviews, the author analyzes the cause of the problem. In order to solve the problems, three aspects of improvement suggestion have been given, including:the ability of geographic guidance of learning methods, opening the pathway of guidance and establishing an evaluation mechanism. The author believes that the findings and recommendations of this article on the basis of survey, which will do some guiding significant on improving the guidance of learning methods of high school geography.
