The modernization of moral education is a major education subject at present. With the popularity of higher education, China’s higher vocational education has a rapid development and growth, but also faces a lot of realistic problems. The moral education ones are especially prominent. Students in higher vocational colleges have relatively weak academic foundation and distinctive thinking features, in addition, because of the influence of such factors as network, mass culture and declining of social ethics, the moral education in higher vocational colleges generally gets into trouble. To a certain extent, this forces higher vocational colleges to explore new moral education modes and methods. From the overall perspective of long-term practice of moral education, the classical moral education methods include self education and instructional education, and in the new era, its limitations also gradually appear. For example, the attention to student’s subjective status is not enough, and the moral education knowledge is over emphasized. The innovation of moral education methods in higher vocational colleges should follow some basic principles, such as educational principle, systematic principle, advanced principle and feasible principle, etc. These principles can guarantee that the innovation of moral education methods to expand along a reasonable path. The innovation of moral education methods in higher vocational colleges need to be explored from the ways and methods. The basic ways of innovation includes modern modification to classical moral education methods, enriching the moral education methods by network information technology. summing up and refining the school’s own moral education practice experience, absorbing and drawing lessons from foreign moral education methods, etc.The innovation of moral education methods in higher vocational colleges need deep analysis to the theory, and it is also necessary to encourage every institution to have diversified practice exploration according its own conditions in practice.
