Skills Competition is an important measure for the vocational schools to strengthen the quality of education, is an important guarantee to stand out the prominent characteristics of vocational education and to improve the competitiveness of vocational education. The country attaches great importance."The Decision of Vigorously Developing Vocational Education" and "the National Outline for Medium-and Long-Term Educational Reform and Development(2010-2020)" issued by the State Council, encourage Skills Competition. Across the country Skills Competition flourished, while behind success many problems has also been exposed. To further realize the objective of vocational education training talents, and enhance its level, we should place skills competitions in a more prominent position, and strengthen the skills competition effect.This paper is divided into five chapters, using the method of literature, observation, interview, and other research methods. The first chapter discusses the background, significance, methods and present situation of the subject research. The second chapter defines the vocational education, skills competition and skills competition of vocational education, and discusses the meaning and function of the skills competition of vocational education. The third chapter discusses the main theoretical basis of the skills competition of vocational education. The fourth chapter, based on the investigation of Jiangxi YuZhou vocational school participating in the skills competition situation, cards the course of participation, shows the their achievements, summarizes the experience, and points out and analyzes the existed problems. The fifth Chapter come up with strategies to improve the vocational school skills competition effect in the field of perfecting the competition mechanism, promoting the construction of "double-qualified" faculty team, playing the role of school-enterprise cooperation, ensuring fund.This study has both theoretical and practical significance. Current academic research is still relatively weak, This study helps to enrich the theoretical system of skills competition of vocational schools, especially of private vocational schools. The proposed countermeasures in practice helps to advance skills competition level of the vocational schools, including private vocational school.
