Skills competition is to test teaching and learning of the secondary vocational schools. tens of thousands of vocational students from all over the country in June attend secondary vocational schools national skills contest, people at all levels watching the game,consequently,this proves that people attaches great importance to skills competition. But, the theory researchers 、 teachers from secondary vocational schools and students’ speech make us very worried about the status of skills competition. Why ? What about the vocational skills competition in Henan? A curious about these problems and special feelings for secondary vocational students make me do the research. The main research content is as follows:The first part focuses on the historical origins 、development status and value of the vocational school skills competition. First,this research explore the history and development of skills competition. In addition, this research suggests that the main value of the skills competition is improving students’ professional skills,promoting the professional development of teachers, improving teaching conditions and making professional settings more reasonable.The second part mainly introduces the current development situation of the skills competition in Henan secondary vocational schools.By analysis on questionnaire data from students and teachers majoring in numerical control technology application, automobile application and service with Mechanical and electrical integration, this research details about the attitude towards skills contest, the situation of students attending skills competition, the system construction of school skills competition, skills competition circumstances of teachers, the relationship between skill competitions and daily teaching content and effect of skills competition.The third part mainly analyzes the problems and reason in skills competition from Henan secondary vocational schools.This research thinks that skills competition in Henan secondary vocational schools has the following five problems: unsound skills competition organization construction from secondary vocational school; skills contest practical equipment increasing the economic burden of participating schools; the skills competition’s conflicts with daily teaching content;teachers’ ability of guidance student attending competition not strong, the less chance to accepting continuing education; not obvious effect for construction of school. But the main reasons of the above problems are as follow: "double type" teachers team construction funds investment insufficiency, the bigger utilitarianism of enterprise participating in skills competition;the school ‘s incomprehension on the role of skills competition,the imperfect skills competition evaluation index and so on.The last part puts forward some countermeasures and Suggestions from the provincial department of education and finance, enterprise and secondary vocational schools. Provincial financial department should strengthen the organization and management of skills competition, establishing a scientific evaluation system of skills competition, perfect the mechanism for ensuring adequate funding for "double type" teachers and so on.Enterprises should have a comprehensive understanding of skills competition function and a reduced participate in skills competition in skills competition of utilitarianism.Secondary vocational schools should improve the skills of organization and management of the competition;strengthening guiding teachers ‘school-based training, the school to holding various forms of skill contests and other countermeasures to managing the skills competition.
