In the age of knowledge economy, innovation becomes the trend of economic developing and participating in international competition. Scientific research teams in universities play multiple roles such as Basic research, science and technology innovation, foster creativity talents in the innovation system of our country. It is also important in promoting theoretical innovation, sustaining economic development, and leading the science and technology innovation. The research of scientific research teams in universities in china is just at the beginning stage. The research of conflict in it is relatively static, because the theories exist can not guide the practice, and this brings so many troubles for scientific research teams in universities on its building, operating, and managing. In this situation, it is important for us to do some researches in the conflict of scientific research teams in universities. Because it can promote a team’s competitive, and research efficiency.The author tries to do some contribution in the research of conflict in university research teams. The author hopes to help the manager of teams being aware of the nature and operational mechanisms of conflict in university research teams, and building a good foundation of the team through systematic analysis.This article begins from analyzing the dimension of conflict in university research teams on the basis of the theories exist. Then it systematic analyzes how the conflict has an impact on teams through three aspects:reasons, process, and its influence on team performance. And it builds a mechanism in allusion to the reasons. The mechanism concludes four parts:team trust mechanism, communication mechanism, optimizing team structure, and harmonious culture. At last, it proves the effectiveness of the mechanism using the way of case analysis.
