During the process of finding jobs, college students are easy to have career-selecting psychological problems under the combined effect of objective and subjective factors, which has a significant impact on the establishment of their career goals. Unmatchable career goals, no matter too high or too low, will seriously affect their future career development. For the study on college students’ psychological problems of career selection, the method of self-psychological-adjustment has been put forward by many domestic scholars. This paper argues that the method is a passive and temporary method, in which there is little scope for college students’ initiative. Therefore, searching for a fundamentally positive solution to college students’ psychological problem of career selection is the key to successful employment for college students. In this paper, self-orientation adjustment is a positive, proactive adaptation, which emphasis on the cultivation of self-consciousness in the preparatory period. Only by fully understanding the self can the orientation of future career development be found and the career-selecting psychological problems like confused psychology and blindly conforming psychology be avoided. Only by unceasing self-management can a matchable job be found and the career-selecting psychological problems like inferiority complex psychology and self-denial psychology be avoid. Therefore, the study of how to adapt self-orientation to solve career-selecting psychological problems so that students achieve comprehensive development has a far-reaching practical significance.Based on the analysis of the college students’ psychological problems of career selection and their causes, the paper finds that the deep-rooted cause is inappropriate self-orientation. Under the guidance of the concept of comprehensive human development, the paper puts the concept of self-orientation adjustment according to Personality-Job Match Theory, after analyzing the phenomenon of inappropriate self-orientation and its causes, the paper also suggests adjustment mechanism of self-orientation and many measures to optimize school guidance mechanism.
