Traditional Wushu is an important component of Chinese excellent traditional culture,through the specific life of Chinese nation reflecting the national emotion, revealling thecultural character of Chinese ancestors, it is the summary formed in the long-term practice ofphysical culture. With the changes of the times, competitive Wushu has become themainstream of martial arts development with its distinctive characteristics of the times, whilethe traditional martial arts has become a representational "backward" of traditional culture.The changes of Wushu are the effect of not only passive acceptance of the social environment,but the results of self-improvement and self-adjustment according to their own conditions andexternal environments to improve themselves. In the process of adapting to social changes,the art of attack and defense, for wushu and other human struggles with nature, has alwaysbeen the fundamental elements of the social structure. As the unique traditional wushu skill,Liuhetanglang Quan raceabled of Shandong region, its living space is gradually narrow，itstechnology system is on the verge of extinction. The art of attack and defense, as the "root" ofLiuhetanglang Quan has been overlooked, which has a huge negative impact on thefundamental value and significance of Liuhetanglang Quan as the existence of a traditionalwushu. It is the most basic means and method of real Wushu. If there is no technical factors asthe prerequisite, other skills and other factors will be lost. Therefore, the technology trainingof attack and defense is very important，meanwhile, it is the key to realize the aim ofvanquishing the enemy in the fight process. Thus, dredgeing up the attack technology andstudying the art of attack and defense. and analyzing the training of the art neglected bypeople, have the double value of typical and practical significance for traditional wushuresearch. The paper through analyzing the Characteristics of attack and defense of the Liuhetanglang Quan, provides a boxing case, so as to provide a new theoretical paradigm fortraditional wushu development in the new period.With the research methods of literature study, expert interviews, field survey,comparative study, and so on, the paper does the analysis of Liuhetanglangquan inheritance,power system, routine exercise and attack and defense characteristics, draws the followingconclusion:(1) Liuhetanglang Quan is a special kind of popular wushu in Zhaoyuan area ofShandong, but its popular field is narrow, practicing people are less.(2) Liuhetanglang Quan is a system with the inside and outside Three Co-operations,namely, mind and intention co-operation, intention and Qi co-operation, Qi and powerco-operation, hands and feet co-operation, elbows and knees co-operation, shoulders and hipsco-operation, all these are the tenets of actions, with the moving lines of wheel, grindingwheel and spiral motion, and essence of other fighting skill systems.(3) Liuhetanglang Quan from pose and shape, having the characteristics of relaxation,flexible compliant, hand following feet, compact precision, without opening up, jumping,rolling or fluttering. The foot action is mainly tow step, standing on solid ground, step by step,freely stepping forward or backward, with c natural onversion. The hands actions are mainlycone punches and Mantis claws. In strength, Liuhetanglang Quan reflects powerful goingforward and soft withdrawing, with the characteristics sticking and following.(4) Liuhetanglang Quan in the attack stresses through "poses" to taking the priority,requires posture and momentum to form overwhelming air, thereby, to test the actualsituations, find a loophole to attack. Liuhetanglang Quan has rich and colorful hand skills,such as, hook hanging down, wrapped around and blocking and catching, sticking tweets,pressure point supporting thorn, picking and cutting, sweeping around and fair split, payingattention to hand moving like arrows; hands fighting without showing hands actions; handsblocking without any leak; forward with the opponent’s forward, entering and then attack hisface first and then parting his hands; flash to attack, also attack without flash, wrestling theenemy when he is in the state of defensing; and other skills and techniques. (5) Liuhetanglang Quan has the following features: moving arms through waist movingwith outstanding flexibility; sound steps with mainly lifting foot moving, body weightfocusing on the hind leg, in case the front leg is raided, ready to start the hind foot, at any timeto change. The lifting foot moving is a changeable step pose, can change to progress, regress,advance and retreat, retreat into serial, with cash, left, right, along with cross, the true mingledwith the false, changing extremely flexible.
