In the new era of the reform and opening policy and the development of socialist market economy, college students of the time are facing the impact of various culture thoughts and value concepts. Especially, affected by kinds of decay thoughts, for example, money worship, personal hedonism and egoism and so on, some college students are in a crisis of political beliefs, ideals, value orientation, integrity awareness, sense of social responsibility in different degree. The excellent traditional moral is the fruit of human intelligence during the long history of several thousand years, the rich philosophy and excellent thoughts of it not only affect and guide people’s thoughts and acts, but also inspire people and promote their noble morality’s forming and developing. Although Chinese traditional moral——old people’s behavior rules and moral principle was made by ancient feudal society, it still is of important use so far. Lots of moral code and behavior principle of socialist morality are the results of inheriting and developing the excellent thoughts of traditional moral. Therefore, making full use of the rich heritage of excellent traditional moral to conduct ideological and moral education for college students, and making traditional moral education into socialist and communist moral education, is of important practical significance.The whole essay contains three parts totally:The first part is about the importance of traditional moral education for nowadays’ college students. Strengthening of the traditional moral education is in line with the requirements of the era of development and nation rejuvenation, is an important measure to improve college students’moral cultivation, and traditional moral education contains rich connotation of moral education for nowadays’college students.The second part is about the main problems of traditional moral education for nowadays’ college students and the cause analysis for them. Finally, we should explore effective ways of traditional moral education actively, and achieve the combine of self-education, classroom education, campus culture education, caucus activities education, counselor education and practice education.
