In the Chinese encyclopedia· volumes of Chinese literature,"appreciationof literature" is defined as: literature appreciation is a kind of aesthetic activityproduced by readers during the reading of literary works. With the medium oflanguage, readers gain access to literary works on the artistic image of thefeelings and experiences, and generate a strong reaction of feelings. Resulting ofthe aesthetic enjoyment, readers can deeply understand the ideologicalconnotation of literary works."Language Curriculum Standard" proposedspecific requirements to the junior middle school students about "graduallyincreasing the appreciation ability of literary works": first, based on the level oftheir own life experiences, thoughts and knowledge, students can feel themeaning of literary works with the method of imagination and associationimplications. Next, by unifying the different literature style and the differentwriter’s language characteristic and the style, they could feel the artistic appealof work. Also, they can study and accumulate excellent language and the wealthof ideas in the language by reading. With the appreciation and connoisseurshipof the work thought significance, social significance and artistic characteristicand the language performance force, students are edifying in the appreciation ofthe reading process as well as improving the literary culture. Withdistinguishing between right and wrong good and evil, and improving theprocess of personality, they have enjoyed literary works.This research is useful to develop students ’ perceived beauty, theappreciation of beauty and ability of creating beauty, meeting the newcurriculum goal on "reading and appreciation of" and to enhance teachers’ability on the prose teaching as well as students ’ appreciation of prose. Newcourses standard of language attaches importance to humanity.
