After the implementation of recent New Curriculum reform, quality education is attached much importance. Because modern and contemporary prose appreciation teaching embodies the quality education, it is also attached more and more importance in the Chinese teaching of High school. Besides, the Ordinary High School Chinese Curriculum Standard which is published in 2003 explicitly put forward the goals of literary appreciation. Undoubtedly, the modern and contemporary proses which are chosen into the High school textbook play a key role in cultivating student's good heart, perfecting their own personality and promoting their all-round development. However, in reality, the Chinese class teaching which is oriented by College Entrance Examination often ignores the training of students' appreciating ability. Therefore, this thesis puts forward some countermeasures considering the present situation of prose appreciation teaching, and tries to give some implications for Chinese teaching.The thesis can be divided into three parts to detail.First,the author briefly introduces the research situation related with the thesis in educational and academic world, and explains the research reason, significance and methods.Secondly, under the new curriculum reform high school from status of the teaching of contemporary prose appreciation and its reason analysis are analyzed. The author firstly explains some concepts which should be known inr modern and contemporary prose appreciation teaching process, then finds out the present situation of appreciation teaching, and explores its causes. And on the high school modem and contemporary prose appreciation teaching theory basis is analyzed also. The author mainly expounds humanistic theory and proximal development theory which play a leading part in the process of modern and contemporary prose appreciation teaching, and their implications for prose appreciation teaching. And then also to the new curriculum reform of modern and contemporary prose appreciation next high school teaching strategies discussed mainly. The author firstly explains the High School New Curriculum Standard which is the premise and background of carrying out modern and contemporary prose appreciation teaching in High School. Then according to the demands of New Curriculum Standard for teaching, the author expounds the professional knowledge, professional ability and literary appreciation's ability which teacher should have. Finally, the author puts forward some specific countermeasures for improving prose appreciation teaching situation by using new teaching methods and dynamic formative assessment mode.Finally, the author summarizes th main contents and views of the thesis and points out the defects of the thesis, abd the author also expresses her hope for modern and contemporary prose appreciation teaching in High School.
