Examination has always been a basic method for making education assessmentand teaching survey, and it is also an important way for selecting talent. Languageexaminations have a long history in China. In different historical periods and socialforms, language examinations also show different characteristics, which reflectdifferent requirements of personnel training in different societies and different times.The history of our examination in a sense can be said the history of a languageexamination. From the slave society of Xia and Shangzhou dynasty, Western ZhouDynasty to the new socialist new China, the examination system has been developingand improving with the development of social history.The college entrance examination system is an important part of the educationsystem. With the development of economy and the progress of the society, the desirefor knowledge and talents has been growing with each passing day. More and morepeople realize the importance of knowledge and culture. They believe thatknowledge is power. So they will impose their hopes on the next generation. Collegeentrance examination, as a national selection examination, is attracting more and morepeople’s attention. It has become the focus of Chinese. Language text in the CollegeEntrance Examination becomes a top priority.With the deepening of the high school language courses, society has a higherdemand for the scientization of language college entrance examination. Exploring theassignment characteristics and studying the scientific and effective assignmentmethods has become an urgent issue. Language applied questions in College EntranceExamination is an important component of the College Entrance Examinationquestions. It changes with the development of the College Entrance Examination. Sothe research on language applied questions can not only promote the scientization ofthe content and form of the language text in the College Entrance Examination, butalso can help to push forward the new curriculum reform and promote the effectiveuse of Applied Linguistics in class. In addition, with the development of the languagecurriculum reform in the whole country, the application of new way of evaluation needs us to summarize the past way, which also requires a study of Language appliedquestions in College Entrance Examination.At present, the new curriculum reforms have become a top issue among theeducators. College Entrance Examination paper is an indispensable part. But in thepast, the research on the College Entrance Examination paper was generally taken as awhole rather than divide College Entrance Examination language item into parts.Many researches were within one year, and few were among different years. Someresearches were about the ways to work out the problems. But there were very fewwere from the viewpoint of education measurement and other theories. There weresome about comment out of emotiom, without rational analysis or thinking. Therewere also Comparisons of the College Entrance Examination language papers indifferent parts. But they paid little attention on the Longitudinal development of thecontext of the paper. These researches were especially lack of the systems analysis,classification, summary of the language applied questions Since the implementationof new curriculum standards. As a result, from the point of view of the educationalreform under the background of the new curriculum and how to deal with the highschool language teaching, the research on language applied questions of the CollegeEntrance Examination papers is very necessary.This thesis focuses on applied linguistic text in College Entrance Examination. Itconsists the systems analysis, classification, summary of language using differentkinds of theories. And it summarizes the historical development of these texts. It alsoanalyzes the testing points of College Entrance Examinations. In the last chapter, ittries to evaluate the applied linguistic text and predict its future development.Peopleshouldn’t overlook the important position of it. It is the basis of reading and writing.What’s more, it is also the basis of ability.
