The history of the ancient Chinese minorities, is a key component for the history ofChinese people. Many fruitful academic achievements have been acquired by the study onChinese ancient minorities as well as on teaching.However, the proportion of contexts,related to the history of minorities, is very small in the ordinary experimental historytextbooks of senior school, which are published by the press of people. Meanwhileachievements of this research did not fully play an according part in the teaching of thatsubject.What’s more, there is a lack of contents of that history in the history course of highschool to published by the People’s Education Press, which is negative to the learning of thathistory for junior students,and is also harmful for their forming our nation’s confidence andpride, as well as making a recognition and understanding to ancient Chinese history.Regarding to the categories of Chinese ancient minorities groups, the representatives ofethnic minorities, the significant historical incident of ethnic minorities, there is a bigdifference between senior high school new history books and old history books. o the sectionon Chinese ancient minority groups in old books is rich in content,guided by time,introducesthe basic situation of Chinese ancient ethnic minorities in an all round ways. while thecontent of the new curricular textbook is few and far between.The view on Chinese ancient ethnic minorities,from Han to modern history, whichrepresents the diversity of minority group, indicates that the academic circle has showed theiraffirmation to the importance of Chinese ancient minority group.In view of this,this thesistry to start from the comparison between new history books and the old ones about thecontent of Chinese ancient ethnic minorities to illustrate that how the lack of the contentimpact the Renmin version history books. We hope to spot the misconception of senior highschool history teaching and make assumptions about the teaching of the Chinese ancientethnic minorities in high school.
