Meantime, universities’ resources and also the waste of resources coexisted, the latter is more serious, and people begin to pay attention on performance of college. As the college is different from the general business organizations, universities and diverse tasks, there are different levels and types, so the assessment of performance for the college is difficult. After comparisons of various performance indicators system, this study selected authoritative Cameron’s nine dimensions of organizational effectiveness model of Liaoning Province of performance appraisal.Referred to Cameron’s nine dimensional models, and combined with the actual situation of tertiary institutions in Liaoning Province, the preparation of a higher organizational performance questionnaire, a questionnaire to11universities. The statistical analysis of data processing and analysis, an overview of the Liaoning Provincial Higher overall performance of organizational performance situation, through factor analysis summarized in Liaoning Province of nine dimensions of organizational performance, and by cluster analysis, according to Liaoning Province11different colleges and universities on the performance dimension scores on the college for a new classification.Through the study we found that:firstly, Liaoning Province11overall good performance of colleges and universities; Secondly, the data summarized in Liaoning Province of nine dimensions of organizational performance in higher education; Thirdly, in the performance of the various dimensions of university The scores on the college re-classified into four categories, four categories of college distinctive.Therefore, performance assessment for universities to develop a comprehensive and effective system of performance indicators; Perfecting performance evaluation mechanism to ensure the quality of higher education; University classification must be reasonable, to help improve university performance.
