| The school physical education is an integral component of the school education and is the main carrier of the implementation of the youth sports education. It is the essential requirement of the school physical education to promote the physical and mental health of teenagers. Therefore, it is the main task of the research on school sports education to deepen the reform of school physical education, to improve the quality of physical education, to expand the multiple functions of the school sports such as fitness, education and morality, and to give full play to the educating advantages of school sports work. But the environment is that the government pays more attention to competitive sports and less to mass sports and school sports. The development of the net work has made’static way of life’the mainstream life style of urban teenagers, causing the youngster health to have gradually glided in the past20years. College physical education is the final stage o in which the youth can exercise with a plan and guidance and is a key stage in which the youth can learn the technical skills of a lifelong physical exercise. Therefore, it is of vital significance to research on the efficient sports work and to improve the health of the youth and even their lifelong heath.By conducting an interview on the college leaders and leaders and teachers in PE department, and a questionnaire on the college students and by using the methods of documentation and mathematical statistics, this article has gained a detailed and objective data about the leaders’attitude, sports teachers, sports facilities, sports education, sports scientific research, extracurricular activities, sports competition and after-school training, which provides a reference for the development of college sports in Qin Huangdao. Through investigation and analysis, this article reaches conclusion and gives suggestions.Conclusions:1.The leader in charge of sports education showing a positive attitude in sports work2.The quality of sports teachers showing steady improvement3.The lack of sports funds showing no transformationSports funds accounts for only0.5%of the college total funds, which is far less than the national standard:1%.The problem of funds is still very serious.4. The curriculum is divided into required courses and elective courses. The elective courses have been increased to no less than10in each school, which satisfies the students’interest and needs and which helps to promote sports teaching. Teaching methods are primarily based on traditional technology teaching, with clubs and other teaching methods as a supplement. The traditional teaching method is still a dominant one, which has no fundamental change. Many kinds of teaching means coexisting has become a trend. With the qualities of teachers and sports hardware improved, a variety of teaching methods will be utilized to meet students’needs and improve the adaptability and pertinence of sports teaching.The sports teaching curriculum adopts comprehensive evaluation methods, namely technology evaluation, theory evaluation, sports emotion evaluation, and physical test evaluation, making the students sports performance evaluation more scientific and reasonable.The investigation shows that86.4%of the college students are satisfied in sports teaching while13.6%not, which proves that the college physical teaching has basically gained students’ recognition.6.The extracurricular sports activities still being the weakness of the school sports. The survey shows that only28.7%of the college students in Qin Huangdao take exercises for an hour each day.7.Sports competition being widely organized The survey indicates that sports competition is organized well in every school. All the schools have their detailed annual competition plan. However, some schools are short in varieties.8.Extracurricular sports training being generally emphasized.Each college has the perfect management system.
