Independent college has been around for more than ten years,and has since gained fast development.There are more than 300 independent colleges all over the country by far,which cover almost 1/3 of undergraduate education in China,and have become one of the backbones in Chinese higher education industry.Independent college is a new comer in the higher education system in China,which facilitates the transformation from meritocracy to massification.It is the outcome of combination of innovation and reformation,and is playing an important role in Chinese higher education.Due to its significance in higher education,the employment of independent college graduates has raised broad concern in the society.Not only it has direct impact on the development of independent colleges,it also influences the life value achievement of the graduates.In this paper,the graduates of century college of Beijing university of posts and telecommunications are the subjects of the study,using the literature research method,analysis comparison method,statistical analysis method,questionnaire survey result analysis method and the form of telephone interview and network interview,through the survey and research on the students’ quality of enrollment,the proportion of male and female students,the characteristics of the employment area,the distribution of employment industry,salary treatment,job satisfaction,job satisfaction and so on.The survey results show that there are some factors influencing the employment of graduates: the recognition degree of the society;Independent college itself;The family environment of graduates;Regional environmental factors;Psychology of graduate employment;The deviation of the graduates to self-knowledge;The lack of competitiveness in jobs,and so on and so on,we have to go through an in-depth analysis of the strategy to improve the employment situation: to use the brand effect to promote the school’s reputation,to highlight the school’s characteristics;Pay attention to the cultivation of their own quality and enhance the competitiveness of employment;Strengthening the construction of psychological counseling for graduates;We will step up efforts to support employment and improve the quality system for employment services.Let the graduates choose the career idea to be rational,adjust the employment expectation to the reasonable;Graduates should learn to take the initiative in career planning;It provides some Suggestions for the employment service system and scheme of the college graduates,and provides reference for other independent colleges to improve the employment rate of graduates.
