The students from secondary vocational schools usually failed in the entranceexamination to senior high school, who are in adolescence Those students, who arealways immersed in failure and blame, don’t form good study habits, do poorly intheir examination, lack study abilities, so they are often criticized by many teachers andparents and are hard to gain the sense of achievement and lack confidence inthemselves.After the entrance examination to senior high school, the students enter thesecondary vocational schools,who are thought to accept secondary education or worsteducation. In this case, the students who have a low opinion of themselves tend to findthemselves weaker in ability and have no faith in themselves. So they escape thecontradiction of inner self-awareness by sleeping in class, skipping class and fighting.Therefore, these three factors—cognition, emotion and action, form vicious circle,which terribly influence the establishment of students’ self-confidence. The student’sconfidence are regarded as study objects and this article tries to explore methods andstrategies which can cultivate and improve students’ confidence by activities that areheld by Communist Youth League.In the first part,the main methods the author used are investigation. The authoruses The questionnaire of self-confidence build-up in youth students written by Bizhongzeng and Huang xi ting, and survey the400students in the secondary vocationalschools. The survey shows that students lack confidence in five aspects to variouscertain extents. According to the survey, the article analyses the cause and effect ofstudents’ lack of confidence.In the second part,the article analyses and proves that activities that are held byCommunist Youth League have an effect on confidence build-up in youthstudents.Now illustrate my point more specifically as follow:1.Activities developed by the CYL help students find the reasons for success andfailure, and set up rational self-assessment method.2.The success of activities developed by the CYL sets a good example for studentsand guide students to build self-confidence by models.3. Activities developed by the CYL enlarge the opportunities of successexperiences for students and help students enhance self-confidence.4. Activities developed by the CYL enhance the students’ abilities of facing thefrustration and help student establish stable self-confidence.5. Activities developed by the CYL inspire the students’ intellectual potential,and based on understanding and knowing themselves, fully help them establishconfidence.In the third part, the study focuses on the phenomena of lack of confidence amongstudents in secondary vocational school.Based on cultivation of student’s ability ofconfidence by activities that are held by Communist Youth League, it puts forward twomethods to cultivate confidence among students in secondary vocational school by avariety of colorful activities developed by the CYL.
