This paper first summarizes the concepts,development and related theories of group counseling and the concepts,structure,influencing factors and related theories of self-confidence home and abroad.Then it draws a conclusion that group counseling is effective and feasible for the improvement of secondary vocational students'self-confidence,which provides the theoretical basis and technical support for the implementation of group counseling experiment for these students.In this study,61 students in two pre-school education classes in secondary vocational schools were selected as the subjects of the experimental group and the control group respectively.The study designed the group counseling programs suitable for improving self-confidence of secondary vocational students and intervened the experimental group at the same time,which aimed at studying the influence of group counseling on self-confidence of secondary vocational school students."Youth Self-confidence Inventory" drawn up by BI Chongzeng and Huang Xiting,the group feedback forms and the group follow-up evaluation forms are used as the research tools to investigate the self-confidence status of the secondary vocational students,and analyze the quality and quantity of the experimental results.After the intervention in group counseling of the experimental group,the study analyzes the data differences between the experimental group and the control group pre and post-test and got the following findings:(1)Self-confidence of secondary vocational school students is at a moderate level.(2)There are no significant differences in the level of self-confidence of secondary vocational students from different regions,different economic backgrounds,families of only-child or not,single-parent or not,left-behind or not.(3)Group counseling has a significant improvement in the overall level of self-confidence of secondary vocational school students.(4)Group counseling has a significant improvement in the achievement expectation quality of self-confidence,coping efficacy and interpersonal confidence of secondary vocational students,while the changes of academic confidence and moral certainty are not very obvious.The results show that the self-confidence level of the experimental group who received the group counseling intervention was higher than that of the control group after two months of the enrollment.Therefore,the group counseling programs designed in this study are effective in improving the self-confidence of the secondary vocational students.
