Secondary vocational education is an important part of vocational education system, with the important task training workers for production, construction, management and service to the forefront. However, with the establishment of the socialist market economy system, the reformation of social economic structure, the change of labour market and the expansion of institutions of higher learning, secondary vocational schools are faced with the difficulties of recruit students.The basic reason is lack of school-running characteristics and school-running characteristics are the inevitable choice for secondary vocational schools’ survival and development. Dalian Female Vocational Middle School has its own characteristic in a long period of practice,so we choose this school for research as a case study.This study consists four parts:The first part is preface.It states the reason for putting forward the qusetion, the purpose and meaning of the research,literature summarizing and the research thought and methods.The second part is the survey of secondary vocational schools’ characteristic.It analyses the concept of school-running characteristics:including school-running characteristics’intension, the connection among school-running characteristics, school-running advantages and school-running traditions, and the concept of secondary vocational schools and its characteristics,and school-running characteristics’features.It also states the formation of school-running characteristics in secondary vocational schools.The third part is school-running characteristics in Dalian Female Vocational Middle School.It includes basic conditions, the school-running thought, the school-running goal and school-running characteristics.It mainly analses characteristics of the model training students,teachers’team and campus culture. The characteristic of model training students is:one is comprehensively implementing the teaching concept that teaching must adapt to students’sex.It mainly includes offering female features’brand professional, offering female features’course and exploring teaching methods of female characteristic.The other is comprehensively implementing the teaching concept of formativeeducation:developing a daily behavior habits; cultivating graceful female temperament; internalizing "self-esteem, self-confidence, self-reliance and self-improvement" female spirit. The teachers’ team characteristic is to stick to the teacher education concept of "pass, help, take". In campus culture c aspects,it contains three parts:First,the material culture characteristic is reflecting female and professional characteristics’campus decoration.Second, the spirit culture characteristic is "self-esteem, self-confidence, self-reliance and self-improvement".Third, the behavior culture characteristic is melting skills, moral, specialty in the integration of campus activities.The last part is the value of school-running characteristics in Dalian Female Vocational Middle School.It mainly thinks on the influence of school-running characteristics in Dalian Female Vocational Middle School from two aspects:one is Dalian Female Vocational Middle School,the other is secondary vocational school.
