With the improvement of the material life and national level of living promoted stepby step, leisure sport is gradually become the main forms of exercise to improve health, stayhealthy and loosen body and mind of. Among leisure sports, rock climbing with thecharacteristics of new, strange, surprised, risk attracted more and more people. A number ofpeople begin to engage in rock climbing,. It become a popular sport.. At the same time, rockclimbing gradually came into our country universities campus, becomes the student favoritesports programs. The development of rock climbing not only promote the reform of physicaleducation curriculum in China at present, but also enrich and perfect the sports course systemas well as speed up the reform of college physical education development. But we have toadmit that the development of rock climbing in our country’s colleges and universities is only20years. Therefore, there are a lot of aspects which we need to study and perfect. This paperanalyse some factors that influence climbing in Shandong province university, includingteachers (age, teaching age, education background, professional title, special), students(professional class, the number of times, knowledge, and interest, course satisfaction), theteaching the basic situation (the choice of teaching content, teaching materials, teaching theuse of the form of organization, teaching methods, teaching evaluation) and several otherfactors. We found that rock climbing has some disadvantages and shortcomes. For rockclimbing’s better development and popularization in Shandong province colleges anduniversities, this paper offers some practical strategies and suggestion according to therealistic.The results shows: in the unniversities of Shandong, the development of rock climbingis still in the start stage. There is no doubt that it has some diaadvantages. Such as sportsdevelopment and regional development imbalance. Mainly displays in geographical economy,culture are not harmonious and the lack of a wide publicity.What’s more we have not beenset up special unified teaching materials.in that way, our teachers have to make syllabus bythemselves. The teaching content of the concrete implementation have not yet received theleaders and scholars’ attention.The main problem for developing rock climbing is the shortageof fundsand facilities. Because our country is still no professional rock climbing trainingagency, the teachers in Shandong province show the trend of younger,weak economicfoundations, the teaching inexperien and the low relatively scientific research level.Nowadays with the the development and promotion of climbing in university, which makesclimbing teachers become an important pillar. In order to promote the development ofclimbing, we will have to improve teachers’ professional level.In the survey, we found that thecollege students’ learning motivation of rock climbing is very high. Students are interestedj inrock climbing and are willing to accept the challenge. In their space time the students spentless time in rock climbing, mainly because most school for security reasons is not open torock in the spare time. According to the basic situation of the teaching in Shandong province, climbing has relatively few classes, mostly only once a week, a number of students attend aclass at the same time.And that the press of rock can bear is limited, so many times it isdifficult to ensure that the efficiency of the class. Sometimes parts of students have nothing todo. It’s obvious that the evaluation is relatively single. Most school consider practiceexamination as a student’ final marks, lack of theory exams and process of the evaluation.
