With the prevalence of constructivism learning theory and the development ofinformation technology, the personalized requirements on e-learning are increasing. Adaptivelearning systems have to improve and perfect the learner model in order to achieve thepersonalization and adaption. In addition to the domain sub-model, a sub-model of learnermodel that represents learner’s knowledge state, only if we create a learning style modelwhich is consistent with learning law, throughout the whole process of study andcomprehensive, the learning system could adapt better.The purpose of this research is to build a kind of learning style model and its scale, whichmore considers the characteristics of subjects and online learning.On the base of reading a large number of domestic and foreign literatures, the paperanalyzes the problems existing in current research on the learners’ learning style models inadaptive learning systems. Foreign and domestic scholars are constantly deepening theresearch in this area, and have made great achievements in the standardization of the model,the diversity of elements and the intellectualization of algorithms. But there are still manydeficiencies in our models: the localization of the study is scanty, the analysis of styleelements is not comprehensive enough, and the lack of consideration of combination withsubjects, and so on.We analyze the properties and characteristics of the physics of junior middle school andexplore style elements involved in study process from the physic curriculum standards tonarrow the scope of the elements further. The paper researches the process of online learningtoo, and studies the individual differences in it. In addition, the paper also attempts to explorethe shadow of learning style elements from the point of connectivism learning theory andeducational neuroscience. With these analyses from these lenses, we build a kind of learningstyle model, which involves21sorts of elements, reflecting pupils’ learning motive,preparation of mind, specific preferences of the mental activities in the online learningprocess and the habits of logging the internet, which may affect the learning. We strictlyfollow the process of building scale (analyze theories, build original item library,fore-measurement and correction) to get the final scale, which is the other research outcome.Through practical measurements and analysis by SPSS, we find it has high reliability andvalidity. The learning style scale is used to get data from students online, so that system couldprovide more accurate and adaptive contents, forms and course to improve learning effects.In this study, there are still many shortcomings, but I hope it could be a little of help for the construction and improvement of physic adaptive learning system. Learning style is thesoul-driven of adaptive learning systems. Only the appropriate and comprehend learning stylemodel will made students to learn more efficient and comfortable in the system.
