Operation solving ability is one of the five basic mathematical abilities that high school students should have and at the same time, it is the most basic and the most widely applied ability. The new course standard has put forward systemic and clear requirements and it has taken the development of students’mathematical ability as a important teaching goal. Therefore, to put the target into practices effectively becomes a question that all mathematic educators should think and research carefully.This paper studies the requirements of exam outline the university entrance exam to operation solving ability, analyzes how Hunan high examination tested the ability to solve mathematical operation during the past five years and gets to know the current level of student’s operation ability through simulation test to the author’s students in Changsha county NO.1middle school and through some teachers’interview and some author’s teaching practice, which comes to a conclusion that their ability is expected to strengthen and finally puts forward the corresponding teaching advice.The full text can be divided into seven parts:The first part is introduction. Put forward the importance of solving mathematical operation and the concept definition of the operation solving ability. After summarize the research results of operation solving ability that the different families got in different periods, we can see that the operation solving ability has already caused widely attention.The second part is putting forward problems. By reviewing the related research, it can be found that the research about operation solving ability in the university entrance exam is very few, and it is rare for researchers to give detailed analysis of operation solving ability in view of the high examination from the perspective of combination to exam outline. Therefore, the author thinks that this study is necessary.The third part studies the requirements of university entrance exam outline for operation solving ability. Exam outline pointed out that operation solving ability is the theme of the high school mathematics. It is a combination of the ability of thinking and operation. It requires to get the accuracy, the rationality, the convenience and the proficiency of the operationThe fourth part analyses how Hunan college entrance examination tests mathematical operation ability during the past5years. Analysis found that the university entrance exam examines algebra, three-dimensional geometry and plane analytic geometry, probability, differential and integral calculus, vector and other related basic knowledge, at the same time examines operation solving ability.The fifth part is about the analysis of high school students’ability to solve mathematics questions. To understand the current condition where high school students solve mathematics questions through simulation test to the author’s students in Changsha county NO.1middle school and through some teachers’interview and some author’s teaching practice.The sixth part is advices of how to improve the operation ability of high school students. According to the researches and analysis above, the author put forward the corresponding teaching advice.The seventh part is the case show. It shows that in actual teaching, the author improve high school students operation solving ability through two series project teaching.The last part is researching the conclusion and the creativity of the paper, and forecasting the future researches. The author is to study how the university entrance exam tests the abstract generalization ability, reasoning ability, space imagination ability and data processing capacity.
