A Research On The Relationship Between The Social Activities And The Cultivation Of University Students’ Employability

The knowledge-based economy, as a new economic form, is quietly springing up around the world. The intangible assets such as knowledge, skills and creativity play important role in this kind of economy. In situation of knowledge-based economy, the human resources market need lots of integrated elitist. The expansion of higher education has increased the number of undergraduate noticeably,. However, it’s a universal phenomenon that some undergraduates can’t find jobs and the rate of unemployment keeps rising during the last several years. The employers are hesitate to hire undergraduates because most of them are lack of employability and capability of practical work and therefore not fully prepare to the job. In view of this, in order to raise the rate of employment, how to cultivate and enhance undergraduate employability is becoming the question concerned commonly by society. During the last thirty years, social practice activities play a more and more important role in improving undergraduate employability, and become the main way by which the college students try to enhance their own employability. The study of the good function which the social practice activities have on the university students employability will help us make the best of the social practice activities to serve the cultivation of university students employability.This paper is composed of the foreword and other three parts.The foreword pare introduces the background,focus,meaning and way of this research.The second part reviews relevant theories and literatures about three topics:1.the definition, forms characteristics and development history;2.the definition and components of the college students employability based on the analysis of the relevant research from domestic and foreign research institutes and experts;3.the methods of the cultivation of university employability. by university from domestic and foreign countries. This part is the basis of the paper which is able to provide the theoretical support for the paper.The third part describes a case study of Nanjing University social practice activities and analyze the function result which the social practice activities of NJU have produced on the cultivation of university employability.The forth part shows the countermeasures and recommendations which can help university social practice as a tool to improve the fostering of college student employability according to the above analysis and the research aim. This part has certain referencing values for the current social practices development trend.
