Professional Identity Of Social Workers

Social workers’ self professional identity means a lot for social work’sprofessionalization and specialization.As the high loss of social workers in Shenzhen,Iselected100social workers who work in Shenzhen for this survey.After using SPSSsoftware to analyse the results of the valid questionnaire,I found that the professionalidentity of the sample is very low and there are significant differences in terms ofgender,educational level,working experience and so on.Through some interviews in depthfor five social workers,I found five reasons-low salary,low status,low social identity,highwork pressure,limit improving space for the low professional identity.Therefore,we shouldwork hard to improve social workers’ professional identity through the social workerindividuals,institutions,associations and so on.
