The Application Of Social Work In Domestic Violence Intervention

Domestic violence is a global social problem, the phenomenon of abuse of women inthe family is very common all over the world. It’s greatly endanger the social safety、familystability、women’s and children’s physical and mental health. It’s also causes irreparableharm to individuals, families, society, etc. Preventing and curbing domestic violence hasbecome an international consensus. Social work, by dint of its professionalism、 itscommitment to respect for recipients and keep secret, and the value concepts that socialworkers should follow like director self-determination、value neutrality、non-judgmentaljust fit with the psyche of recipients in the event of domestic violence thatdomestic shame should not be published, this provides a possibility that social workintervene in domestic violence.Domestic violence has a complex mechanism, the intervention of domestic violence isa systems engineering, it needs many agencies and organizations to prevent and curbwithin their respective scope of authority. We should consider the intervention of domesticviolence from various angles like changing social cognition、 promoting gendermainstreaming、establishing a network of Women’s support、the construction of legislation、advocating the public opinion, intervene with a variety of means of intervention, create anintervention model that has a wide variety of the subjects of intervention and connects anetwork of various agencies with coordinated functions.This article is based on the practical work in Shenzhen Pinging Domestic ViolenceProtection Center, synthetically uses the research results from Against domestic violencenetwork of China Law Society and the intervention model that connects anetwork of various agencies against domestic violence, and uses the foreign、Hong Kong and Taiwan regions’ practical experience and China’s exploratory researchand practice which are underway for reference, always makes some adjustments accordingto the problems and effects appeared in the process of service promotion, summarizes and introspects continuously and makes improvements, discusses the interventional space thatprofessional social work intervening in domestic violence by practicing、 investigating andanalyzing in Shenzhen Pinging Domestic Violence Protection Center, tries to construct aneffective intervention model against domestic violence.
