The Ministry of education started graduate education structure adjustment in2009. Full-time professional degree graduate education develops rapidly, and its development is the focus of attention. Students’ professional identity means students hold to the more stable and evaluative inner psychological tendency. Positive professional identity in this study includes that the students know what they learned, and be fond of learning and probe into the knowledge with positive activities. The professional identity of full-time professional degree graduates influences their studies and their career development in the future. Therefore, research on the professional identity of full-time professional degree graduates would be propitious to improve graduate education quality.This study analyses the connotation and component of students’professional identity, through the self-edited questionnaire about the professional identity of full-time professional degree graduates. By stratified random sampling,161full-time professional degree graduates in Lanzhou University are selected as the research sample. The results reveal the following:First, full-time professional degree graduates in Lanzhou University identify with their major merely at a medium level, and most students’professional identity are unsatisfactory. Second, there are significant differences among different grade and classification of majors. First grade students have a higher level at their professional identity. Different gender and work experience have no obvious differences about the degree of professional identity. Finally, this study suggests that with exerting the principal role of students, improving students’abilities of self-adapting, making better the training process, improving the teaching level, constructing the perfect system will promote the formalization and development of professional identity of full-time professional degree graduates in Lanzhou University.
