Professional degree postgraduate is the important cultivation type in current postgraduate education reform development. The reform of postgraduate education model is one of the two point of strength in comprehensively deepening postgraduate education comprehensive reform. Therefore, taking the reform of professional degree postgraduate education model as the research object has important theoretical significance and practical meaning.Based on stakeholder theory and system theory, this paper believes professional degree postgraduate education model has abstraction in property, systematicness in element, dynamics in development change, imitation in application scope and effectiveness in judgement standard. Through historical review, professional degree postgraduate education model can be divided into three periods: exploration pilot period,starting period and reform development period. These three periods define the guiding thoughts of service requirements of professional degree postgraduate education, explicit talent cultivation target of enhancing professional competence, establish course system combined with theory and practice, strengthen the building of talent cultivation practice base, intensify the construction of supervisor team with double supervisor system and adjust talent cultivation evaluation standard. However, the professional degree postgraduate education model still has the following problems: first the shortage of education resources, second the insufficient relevant main body participation positivity, third the convergence of cultivation model and academic learning oriented postgraduate education model. According to the analysis of American professional degree postgraduate education model, this paper points out that the professional degree postgraduate education model is required to define professional degree cultivation target, establish process replacement mechanism and enlarge external cooperation.Based on the above research, the reform of professional degree postgraduate education model can be divided into two parts: the first part is taking professional degree postgraduate education unit as main body and second part is taking other non-professional degree postgraduate education unit as main body. This paper also put forward four types of professional degree postgraduate education model: taking local government as the guide, taking industry competent department as the guide, cooperation between school and enterprise and cooperation among schools.
