The new Teaching Guidance for Physical Curriculum in National Ordinary Collegeenacted by The Department of Education specifies that "social adaptation" is one of themain learning fields; it also states clearly that students will achieve knowledge andskills of sports and health, improve the levels of physical and mental health and socialadaptation ability by learning this course. The central committee of the communist partyof China and state council shows that good social adaptation ability is also an essentialdetail of education for all-round development concept advocated during educationalreform in our country in Deepening Educational Reform and Promote Education forAll-round Development Comprehensively and highlights mental health and socialadaptation goals In the new Standards of Sports and Health Curriculum. Publishmentand implementation of new curriculum marks the beginning of educational reform. Atthe same time, the sports and health education in our country is entering a new historicalperiod. The goal of cultivating students’ social adaptation during sports teachingpossesses reality and contemporaneity. To achieve this level and target in the field oflearning makes that teaching process gives full play to cultivate students’ socialadaptation ability and prepare qualified talents of all-round development for socialistmodernization.Higher education is a place for social interaction; the physical education cannot bereplaced by other subjects to cultivate students’ social adaptation ability. Constantexploration and practice of physical education and teaching activities for cultivatingcollege students’ social adaptation ability is a subject worth studying. This research setsthe college students’ social adaptation ability influenced by sports as the topic, aimed toprovide certain theoretical reference for further study, thus the research has sometheoretical and practical significance. This article mainly USES the literature material, questionnaire survey, mathematical statistics, logical analysis and interviews toinvestigate the sports impact on students’ social adaptation ability in SoochowUniversity.Research results:1college students participated in sports activities promotes social adaptation ability,and there are no significant differences between men and women, grades and majors,but index number of social adaptation ability increases gradually along with the grade.2The index number of social adaptation ability varies in sports programs: thenumber of basketball, volleyball and football ranks the highest and the evaluation forthe social adaptation ability is strong; Tennis, badminton, table tennis is good; whilewalking, running, taiji and martial arts based on individualism is the worst.3The index number of social adaptation ability of college students took part insports has a positive correlation with the increase of times and exercise stress everyweek.4college students took part in physical exercise can accord interpersonalrelationship, improve interpersonal relationship and social adaptation ability.
