In the era background of both the education quality and the campus culture are conducive to the development of the school, the primary and middle school campus cultural construction is in full swing. At present, with the emergence of campus cultural construction boom, the construction of campus cultural characteristics by the school is becoming increasingly important. To strengthen the construction of campus cultural characteristics, on the one hand, is beneficial to achieve the educational characteristics and promote the all-round development of students; on the other hand, is beneficial to build the school’s characteristics, improve the school’s competitiveness and further to promote the connotative development of the school. In view of these, in order to promote the construction of campus cultural characteristics by the primary and middle school in the national regions, this study focuses on the problems in the construction of primary and middle school campus cultural characteristics in Rongjiang County, which is one of the typical ethnic areas and located in Qiandongnan autonomous prefecture in Guizhou province.Guizhou province is one of the great nation provinces with the rich folk culture resources. It carried out the "national folk culture into campus" activity and made some achievements. Now, many schools have been appraised as the national folk cultural education project schools. Based on the favorable conditions for the construction of campus cultural characteristics in the national folk cultural education project schools, this study choose the Rongjiang County National Middle School and the Che Min Primary School for example and through the questionnaire investigation and depth interview to reveal and reflect the main problems existing in the construction of campus cultural characteristics in primary and middle schools in Rongjiang County. This study found that the two schools failed to appreciate the relationship between the construction of campus cultural characteristics and the development of the school, and they could not grasp the system process of the construction of campus cultural characteristics very well. At the same time the ways to deal with the relationship between the construction of campus cultural characteristics and the community environment also appeared deviation. With regard to the reasons, this study argues that the factors resulted in the construction of campus cultural characteristics is not prominent and obvious are complicated, such as the practice is lack of theoretical guidance:having ignored the subtle and important function of the campus culture; weakening the construction of campus cultural characteristics in ethnic minority areas; they have paid much more attention to the activity form and ignored the content and process; the shortage of capital and equipment; both the school management system and the evaluation system are not perfect, and so on.Based on the field work and theoretical research analysis, this study holds that there would be a good effect on the construction of campus cultural characteristics, if we can do the following things well:setting up the correct concept of the construction of campus cultural characteristics; making the school running ideas clearly, and accurately positioning the school characteristics; further improving the ability of campus cultural characteristics builder; promoting the organic integration of the construction of campus cultural characteristics and the community culture; increasing the capital investment in the construction of campus cultural characteristics through a variety of ways; to establish and perfect the guarantee mechanism and evaluation mechanism of the construction of campus cultural characteristics, and so on.Finally, the author thinks that the study on the problems in the construction of primary and middle school campus cultural characteristics in ethnic minority areas has a strong practical significance, but because of the author’s ability is limited, the range of the selected samples is narrow and the research material is inadequate in this study. At the same time, due to the lack of the author’s professional theoretical knowledge, in the process of the thesis writing, the author has also deeply realized that there are still many deficiencies about the depth of the investigated problem, the comprehensive analysis of the causes and the effectiveness of the strategies in the present study, so this study needs to be further improved.
