The combination of video resources and Chinese teaching becomes an important part ofChinese teaching reformation in the new era. Because of the special training objectives aswell as their own strong IT hardware facilities, the secondary vocational schools have theconditions and demands to develop and integrate the video resources as part of Chineseteaching, as well as to enhance the effects of language teaching in vocational schools inpractice. This paper focuses on the status quo of applications of video resources on Chineseteaching in secondary vocational schools, studies the problems on the basis of qualitativemethods, and tries to explore an effective teaching model to enhance the effectiveness ofteaching. It aims to prompt the reform of Chinese teaching in secondary vocational schools, toenhance students’ Chinese literacy and professional quality, so as to make them becomequalified professional laborers and to enhance their social competitiveness.The thesis is divided into four chapters.Chapter One defines the connotation and extension of the video resources from the pointview of language teaching, reveals the background and research methods of the application ofvideo resources in Chinese teaching, and emphasizes the values of video resources in Chineseteaching on enhancing the teaching effects in secondary vocational schools. Chapter Two tookthe vocational school where the author teaches as an example, and made a research on theapplication of video resources in Chinese teaching so as to reveal the problems. Besides, itattempts to analyze its reasons according to theories of educational psychology and pedagogy.Combining with the teaching practice as well as problems revealed in Chapter Two, the thirdchapter tries to explore an effective classroom teaching mode, which includes how to improvethe application principles and teaching methods and how to promote the teaching effect. Thelast chapter introduces a case of the video resources used in Chinese teaching, which isactually the classroom teaching practice based on the teaching mode mentioned in ChapterThree. It also displays the analysis and reflections of the case, hoping to verify the values ofvideo resources on assisting Chinese teaching in secondary vocational schools.
