In21st century, China ’s basic education is undertaking vigorous curriculum reform. Newcurriculum reform emphasize to develop the autonomy, initiative of students and stimulatingstudents’ interest in learning and self-involved to complete quality education. With thereleasing and taking effect of related policies, this round of curriculum reform go from theoryto practice and classroom step by step. Quality education is gaining recognition, new teachingtheory which is student-centered is being popular. However, in some basic schools, affectedby traditional teaching concept, the teaching environment and public opinion, the dominantposition of students can not be given full play. Many students still feel the pressure oflearning, some even feel severe wearying of learning..To fully mobilize the enthusiasm of students and improve the academic performance, manygeography teaching methods in high school is studied. Finally, it is found that the "introduction based on students " theory proposed by Professor Guo Sile is in line with thephysiology and psychology of today ’s high school students. So taking advantages as highschool geography teachers, combining with the results of previous studies, preliminaryinquiry on the application of “introduction based on students” on geography teaching arestudied from both theory level and practice level in high school, which can supply someuseful reference for geography teaching reform of high school.The thesis includes six chapters.Chapter I, by comparing the “Standards of full-time high school geography curriculum”,identifying the requirement of existing education system for high school students ingeography learning, analyzing the significance of “introduction based on student” on highschool geography teaching. By learning related theoretical writings at home and abroad, theconcept, connotation, theoretical foundation and research status of “introduction based onstudent” are described.Chapter II, querying on conventional teaching method of “instruction based on teachers”and analyzing its problems in the current high school geography teaching. Finally the reasonsfor this phenomenon are summarized.Chapter III, based on the theory and teaching practice, five principles that must be followedduring “instruction based on students” teaching are introduced and the issues should be noted are also elaborated.Chapter IV, on the basis of the theoretical research of “instruction based on students”, someteaching models are introduced, including “new teaching lessons” and “review lessons”. Twosections of "Lu teach " version of the high school geography teaching are selected as casesand finally demonstrating the effectiveness of this teaching method.Chapter V, testing the effectiveness of “instruction based on students” teaching method byteaching experiments. By analyzing the survey results in the experimental classes before andafter the experiment on the interests in learning geography, and analyzing the changes inacademic performance between the experimental and standard classes through SPSS19.0software, it is found that “instruction based on students” teaching method can improve theefficiency of students’ geography learning.Chapter VI, some issues that should be paid attention to and the problems during carryingout theoretical research and teaching experiments are addressed.
