With the rapid development of society, the amount of information increased sharply. Thecharacters of knowledge age have made new demands on personnel training. This requires thatwe should pay attention to the ability of students to analyze and solve the problem. What’s more,we are supposed to develop their abilities of creation and operation. In this case, high orderthinking ability appeared.The thinking of students comes from questions. Just like water withoutsource, the thinking without question can not exist. The heart of promoting the development ofstudents’ high order thinking ability is that the questions can be raised and designed effectively.Therefore, in our theory and practice of teaching, we should attach importance to develop andpromote the development of high order thinking ability by designing effective question situation,so that we can regard promoting the learners’ high order thinking ability as the trends of thedevelopment of mathematical education. The innovation point of this is that the development ofhigh-order thinking ability combines with the creation of problem situation and it proposes theimportance and feasibility of the creation of problem situation for the development of high-orderthinking ability.This survey mainly consists of the following works:In theory, according to the research which is about the concept and the present situation ofhigh order thinking ability around the whole world, the writer comprehensively puts forward theconcept of high order thinking, and obtains that high order thinking ability is a comprehensiveability, which consists of analytical ability、evaluation ability、creative ability and criticalthinking ability. The writer also defines the situation of high school mathematics problems.In practice, according to the students’ questionnaires and interview to teachers, the writerfinds and analyzes the present situation of high school students’ high order thinking ability andthe teachers’ problems existing in situation creation. The writer views this as the starting point topursue the teaching strategies about problems’ situation creation from the perspective of highorder thinking ability developing. Meanwhile the writer carries out some problem situationteaching experiments based on the aims of the development of high order thinking.According to the analysis of experimental results, the writer uses questionnaires andperformance analysis, to analyze statistically the effect about ability developing. The experiment attests to that the effective design of problems’ situation can promote the students’ high orderthinking ability. To some degree, it provides theoretical support and base of practice in the future.Besides, some problems still exist in this research. Some aspects of the research remains tobe further improved. On the one hand, because the knowledge of mathematics in high school isso much, and time is limited that the design of the problem situation is not very comprehensive,effective and mature. On the other hand, for the development of high-level thinking ability, thedesign of the situation is only one of the effective methods. Because of the limited time, norelated research is conducted on the impacts of other factors.
