The Research On The Risk Appetite Of The College Students In The Educational Investment

As the cost of education is increasing, people gradually take education as aninvestment, and more and more new ways of educational investment appear along with theestablishment and development of education market space. The decisions of where andhow to take education are affected by the appetite of risks of the college students, who arethe main part that is benefited from such investments. This research will take the studentsof Soochow University as a focus group, explore the educational investment phenomenonbased on theories and real evidence, and study the risk appetites of the college students inthe educational investment. During this study, I will integrate questionnaires withinterviews, use Statistics methods, such as Factor Analysis, variation analysis, ANOVAAnalysis, to figure out the difference between to the various groups of college students’risk appetites in educational investment. By analyzing and summarizing the findings, Iwould like to enhance my ability in this research area and the usage of statisticsmethodology.There are five chapters in total. The first Chapter will generally describe thebackground and meanings of this topic, methodology and research tools that will be usedin this study, and my innovations. Chapter Two will consist of the literature reviews, as apreparation for the next steps. In Chapter Three, I will define some main ideas in theresearch at the beginning, then analyze the educational investment atmosphere and therisks of appetites of the investors, based on Education property theory, Human capitaltheory, Risk appetite theory, Overconfidence theory. Chapter Four will be the mostimportant part in the thesis. I will prepare the questionnaire about the college students’ riskappetites in educational investment, base on analyzing the findings from the interviews and evaluation of the risk appetite of Finance. Then I will amend the questionnaire further byfactor analysis. Then I will analyze the affecting elements to college students’ risk appetitesin educational investment by using descriptive statistical analysis, t-test, ANOVA Analysis.Finally, this study found and summarized three types of factors, such as the investor’s owncharacteristics, the factors of family conditions and family background. In Chapter Five, Iwill make a conclusion, and provide some suggestion to the problems I found in this study.
