With the fast development of China’s social-economic capacity and anexpediting process of globalization, there are a growing number of joint-degreeinternational curriculum programs. Owing to its special nature in cultivation, teachingmode, curriculum as well as student management, great challenges are posed to moraleducation in this type of programs. How to effectively carry out specialized moraleducation towards this particular group, improving the efficiency of the work is anissue to be tackled promptly.Research findings suggest that at the current stage, moral status of students ininternational curriculum program is satisfactory. Students show relatively high levelof patriotism, life pursuits and value, with strong independence and open-mindedness.However, some issues are also not to be ignored, like the dissolving mainstreamthoughts, faith crisis, materialism and practialism while there is a difference betweenknowing what to do and what are done among students. For most programs, there arevery specific moral education objectives with distinctive features, giving a lot ofattention to social and community work, which provides a platform for the growth ofstudents. The existing problems are as follows such as the anchoring role of moraleducation not being fully implemented, the missing link between moral education andpractice, low efficiency of moral educational methodology, and a weak staff memberteam of moral education.There are many reasons leading to the status quo of moral education ininternational curriculum programs, some of which have a lot to do with socialenvironment and others with school education. The article argues that school-basedelements include at the recognition level---poor positioning of moral education in theprograms; operational level–a lack of constructing moral educational system; at themaintenance level-professional qualification of staff members in moral educationneeds further improvement.To tackle the major problems of moral education, the article proposessuggestions to strengthen and improve the work at the macroscopic and operationallevels. At the macroscopic level, we should stick to the guiding role of Marxism, inaccordance with the principles of moral education and cultivation of international citizens, to construct a moral education system in the program with a betterapplication of modern IT technology. At the operational level, politics course aimed atthis particular program should be launched at the provincial or municipal level; acurriculum of moral education is to be launched; to strengthen professional training ofmoral education; to implement managerial regulation of moral education in theprograms and the interconnection of home-community moral education work.
