The Chinese language education in Philippines began with the foundation ofZhongxiSchool in1899. The quality of Chinese education in Philippines, which hasexperienced more than one hundred years ups and downs, is becoming worse andworse since the Philipinnes government policy of“Philipinization”. And many peoplein the area are havingtried to find the root of the problems and its solution. Thepurpose of this article is trying to investigate the social and cultural background andlanguage environment in the perspective of Second Language Acquisitionenvironmental factors for Chinese high school students in the Philippines,understanding the language environment of the Philippine Chinese students outsidethe classroom and exploring the external environmental factors that affect the Chineselanguage education in the Philippines.This study combines with the method of documentary, the method ofinvestigation and interviews. It focuses on the students’ social and culturalbackground and home language environment situation and the Philippine Chinesesocial integration with local mainstream society.
