Self-confidence which is defined as assuredness in one’s judgment and ability, is the core personality variable. It is a component of healthy personality. Character strengths proposed by the father of positive psychology Seligman contains24human best qualities.Many psychological research results show that there is high correlation among character strengths, confidence and subjective well-being. The research assumed that there is a highly positive association between character strengths and confidence; self-confidence is one of the mediators between character strengths and subjective well-being. It explored the influence and mechanism among confidence, personality and subjective well-being. On the basis of the literature review about the study results of the confidence, self-confidence questionnaire for junior students made by using the research method of Bi Chongzeng on young students’self-confidence. It analyzed and summed up the contents collected by open-ended survey; determined the confidence structure model with the method of factor analysis; and the examined by applying confirmatory factor analysis. According to "Chinese primary and middle school students’ positive psychological quality scale","the young students’life satisfaction scale" and "positive and negative emotion scale", the paper explored the influence and mechanism among confidence, personality and subjective well-being. The results found:1) The junior students’ self-confidence questionnaire is in accordance with the requirements of psychometric and has good reliability and validity.2) Junior students’ self-confidence is constituted by six dimensions:the achievement self-confidence, the interpersonal self-confidence, the family self-confidence, the body self-confidence, the coping self-confidence, the ability self-confidence.3) The achievement self-confidence level is the highest among junior students, which demonstrated that junior students hold a positive attitude towards their future; then, the coping self-confidence, the interpersonal self-confidence, the ability self-confidence, the body self-confidence, the family self-confidence.4) There are no significant differences in five dimensions of the achievement self-confidence, the interpersonal self-confidence, the body self-confidence, the coping self-confidence, and the ability self-confidence in gender and grade.5) Family self-confidence is significantly associated with the total scores of self-confidence in gender and grade, among which the scores of students from Junior One were significantly less than that from Junior Three, and the scores of males are significantly higher than that of females.6) The average numbers of junior students’ positive qualities in numerical order are transcendence, wisdom, humanity,courage, temperance and justice.7) The positive qualities of junior students in six dimensions have no significant difference in gender and grade.8) The total scores of self-confidence mediate the relation between subjective well-being and the five positive qualities-wisdom, courage, humanity, justice, temperance and transcendence.
