Chinese language teaching for ethnic minorities do contribution to the integration of ethnic minorities into the main body of the Chinese nation and also the common interests and development. The necessity of ethnic groups to learn Chinese is decided by the feature of ethnic distribution and ethnic relations and the demand of the prosperity in ethnic area in China. This is also the inevitable trend of historical development. The study focus on the Chinese language teaching to ethnic minorities. Chinese language teaching of primary schools in Zhaojue were set as the study object. Starting from the investigation on current Chinese language teaching in Zhaojue, trying to reveal the inadequacies exist in the local Chinese language teaching and then making the analysis. On this basis, then explore the way of Chinese language teaching to ethnic minorities as well as the strategies to improve the quality of Chinese language teaching in Zhaojue.In this study, six elementary schools were selected as study sample by mastering the rich literature resources, and through the way of in-depth local investigation, classroom observation, interviews and questionnaires to obtain first-hand information, and then analysis the problem from the four dimensions of teachers, students, teaching methods, and language learning environment. Summarize and explain to reveal the existing problems in the current stage of Chinese teaching in primary schools in Zhaojue County, and causes of those problems.On the basis of classroom ethnography and theoretical reflection, summarize the below viewpoints in this thesis: the development of the ethnic characteristics in the Chinese language teaching is in line with the national minority self-interest, and consistent with the generality and particularity of the law of development of things. Chinese language teaching to Yi people should have the Yi features which should be reflected in all aspects of teaching; Chinese language teaching that only genuine rooted in Zhaojue local soil and absorb nutrients in local culture could truly become unique Chinese language teaching in Yi school, rather than "the rootless tree", and then obtained the road of culture symbiosis in Chinese language teaching.Seek into explore the road of Chinese language teaching with Yi characteristics in the dimensions of teachers, students, teaching methods and language learning environment. The efforts should be the focus on Yi students with outstanding Yi specialty. The full realization of the national culture nourish national education could only let the Chinese language teaching root in fertile cultural soil Zhaojue region.
